Discover What Leads One To Procrastination
Procrastination can be defined in many ways. To put it simply, it is a psychological disorder that causes one to postpone some tasks for an indefinite period and replace them with other tasks. The tasks delayed are usually those that cause the person concerned discomfort, stress and uneasiness. So, he or she delays these tasks to save themselves from anxiety and stress and instead indulge in activities that are pleasing to them.
But, why is there such a tendency among people to run away from doing jobs that are stressful. In order to cure procrastination, one must have proper knowledge about its causes. There are many reasons for such behaviour but here we will discuss only some of them.
Procrastination may be symptomatic of poor management of your time, creating a vicious circle in which more and more work accumulates. It is no coincidence that during the most intense periods of study or work we are wandering through Facebook or YouTube and our favourite news site and so forth.
Such wastage of time forces them to work hard and hurt in times meant for taking rest. This ultimately exhausts the brain and more and more work becomes pending creating a vicious circle. Finally it causes the person to procrastinate.
In order to avoid procrastinating, it is very essential to enjoy and be interested in whatever one does. Lack of interest is one of the prime reasons of procrastinating. Out of disinterest, one does not feel the urge to complete the work as he or she feels that it will not help them to grow as an individual. Clearly, it leads to delaying and postponing things. So, it is very essential to choose one’s work as per interest and passion.
Sometimes, although you love your job, you put off routine and tedious work. Often, we happen to believe that having to complete tasks is unnecessary. Even the best job in the world will have some of these activities which are like spring pollen – unavoidable, annoying but necessary.
Fear and procrastination often go hand in hand. Whether it’s finding a new job, meeting the girl of your dreams, or starting your own business, when you’re frightened, you will always find dozens of plausible excuses for delaying what you want and should do. It is dictated by fear that the worst may happen. Instead of chasing your dreams, you find yourself immobilized and unable to react.
