By becoming a member of a book club, you will be able to make sure that you are able to read about a variety of different topics and stay well informed when it comes to your personal development. The reason for this is because often times when you are a part of a book club, you will read books that you may not have decided to read on your own. It will give you a new outlook on books and you will find some that you did not know were even out there, and even give you other perspectives. Some of these perspectives you may not see eye to eye with, but that is okay because you will be learning a lot by just reading them. It also gives you a respect for the different opinions.

In order to really have an opinion on an idea you will need to fully understand both sides of it. If you are not knowledgeable, then you will not really be able to make an informed decision. When you learn about both sides, it does not really mean that you have to change your opinion. It may even cause you to see why you formed the opinion that you have.

You’ll get a perspective on an issue from the other side, maybe understand other facts and opinions about it that give you a far better understanding of the issue. Use the opportunity to ask questions and learn rather than arguing. This should not be about either of you trying to convert the other. It is just an opportunity for both of you to learn more and broaden your outlooks.
