6 characteristics of financially stable people
By Yukko Anigho
Today I would like to consider personal traits of prosperous people and those who have no debts.
1. The ability to draw one’s attention to trifles The first and foremost characteristic is the ability to concentrate on minor details and trifles. It manifests itself in the readiness to control one’s budget (now as we focus on financial side of life), the ability to manage one’s expenses, plan them and distribute one’s income properly. If you trouble yourself at least once with analyzing your monetary transactions for at least a month, you will definitely clearly understand which sides of your family or personal budget are worth being taken a closer look at. And this attention to the minor details will be generously rewarded in the end.
2. Pragmatism Pragmatism is the main characteristic feature of a careful and successful person. Just think about this this ability to spend money wisely and unwillingness to splash out a lot of money is what allows some people to live comfortably and prosperously and be happy. The ability to spend money properly is a must, in case you need to buy a vehicle and that’s why you have to ponder over its price firstly, for example. What you should buy a high-priced car for, while you can choose a cheaper one with the good price/quality ratio? The same can be said about designer clothes. Indeed, though the sense of style and personal taste won’t let one buy clothes on a bring-and-buy sale or a Chinese market, the choice between “haute couture” and democratic brands is however a responsible enough choice made by a reasonable person.
3. Pragmatic lifestyle It’s necessary to be ready to count on one’s own resources (and gains). It means that one should live and spend only within the limits of one’s own salary and not to hope to live till the next salary, borrowing money from a friend or taking credits. No matter what is going on, one should pay his/her debts while all those borrowings and paying back might turn out to be endless.
4. Patience Patience is a nice feature which few people have. As far as financial sense is concerned, patience is the ability to wait and save and then to spend some money on the thing you need instead of splashing out every last penny and living on credit. Those having debts and being able to pay them back as soon as possible – while spending most of the income on them – are also worth respecting. So, quite soon they will be able to live free without their debts. The ability to be patient and wait, to pay one’s bills and then enjoy one’s life allows one not to avoid even big credits.
5. Self-esteem and self-confidence Furthermore, financially self-confident people do not avoid using credit cards because they are able to manage paying the debts back. They know that credit cards are not universal enemies if one is able to spend the money offered by the bank wisely. The main thing is to use the money wisely and to pay the debts back in time before the interest accrual. In case the problem demands immediate actions here and now the credit card can really save one’s life.
6. The lack of addiction to shopping Being able not to be charmed with material things is as important as other personal traits enumerated above. Everyone undoubtedly wants to have a successful life, to have new things, nice gadgets, luxurious equipment and a fascinating and comfortable house. In case one lacks something enumerated here (s)he can have fun with what (s)he has, though.
