Here is some basic South Africa travel advice with five recommended parks to go and see the amazing natural wildlife on the flesh. You will have a chance of catching glimpses of some or all of the big five in all of them.

The five is a list of animals which hunters declared were the hardest to hunt on foot. These are some of the most majestic animals you will come across and include lions, rhinos, buffalo, elephants and leopards. On every park listed below these animals roam and make their home, so you have a high chance of seeing them for yourselves.

Close to Sun City on the North West Province is Pilanesberg National Park. All of the expected animals can be spotted here such as zebra and giraffes, even crocodiles. A top restaurant is on location along with several places to stay.

If you will be looking to stay in Cape Town then you might like the idea of visiting a nearby reserve which is not too far away. Sanbona is less than a four hours drive away. It is malaria free and along with elephants, leopards, rhinos and buffalo you can also see white lions. The pack is the only self-sustaining white lions in the whole world.

Another excellent privately owned park is the Blaauwboasch Lodge. The accommodation is excellent and so are the activities on the park. The rangers offer an opportunity to stalk the Cheetah as it hunts down its prey. This is an amazing opportunity and there are lots of other wildlife found in the reserve and all of the five big ones.

Kariega combines safari with luxuries vacation treats such as spa treatments. Once again all of the big five roam around in the park and you can view them from open top vehicles. You can see the reserve from a different point of view if you take the boat trip along the Kariega or Bushman rivers.
