Michael Yaron Is A Philadelphia Personality

Dr. Michael Yaron, PhD., is a somewhat controversial and divisive figure, but he is clearly a person who is a significant part of the Philadelphia area’s celebrity business crowd. He is widely respected as a successful business person and entrepreneur who started from very humble beginnings. His business operations stretch from the greater Philadelphia and Delaware Valley are into New Jersey and New York.

This man is a native son of the state of Israel, where he grew up and spent his most formative decades. As a young man, he served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Force and earned a reputation as a tough and scrappy soldier. He earned a highly honored status as an officer in Israel’s army before he left the country to pursue his education.

He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Miami located in Florida. He received later a Master’s Degree in the field of chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He earned a doctorate in the field of engineering and physics from the prestigious Oxford University in England.

The traits he picked up as an officer during his war time Israeli army service have carried through with him to become part of his business life. His tenacity and persistence have served him well as his aggressive property development empire have expanded through a series of hard negotiated deals in New York, Philadelphia, Florida and New Jersey.

Yaron Property Management is a global enterprise that oversees properties in the New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Florida markets. As a principal of that company, the doctor mainly concentrates on asset management and construction management. He also handles some of the property management tasks and duties.

Oxford Property Management, Inc., was also founded as an outgrowth of the first company. The difference is that while the first company may hire anyone, Oxford is a union company that only hires union workers. It also subcontracts work to union trades people. This allows the company to operate more easily in the political environment of New York City and Philadelphia.

Recently, Yaron and seven others were indicted by a federal grand jury. The February 2011 indictment ordered large restitution payments for damages. It was found that one of the property management companies had paid kick backs to an official at New York Presbyterian hospital for asbestos removal contracts there.

Michael Yaron has one child, a son named Jarred. Jarred works with his father in the family business. A graduate of Columbia, he also runs a venture capital fund.
