This entry is part 3 of 10 in the series Business Card Tips

If you take a business card for granted and neglect its importance, you are committing a serious mistake. A business card can do a lot for you and your business. Every small thing is counted when you want to build your company’s image and offer it an individual identity to survive in the competitive business world. It becomes unavoidable for you to show your customers and suppliers, your business values by handling even the smallest thing or issue with a professional approach.

A business card is a cheap yet effective marketing and advertising tool. Its each detail tells a different story that creates an impression about you and your business. To discuss on these impression making stories each element of the business has been discussed order wise.

Design

A design must reflect the nature of your business and its dealings. Exaggerated usage of graphics and fonts should be avoided to facilitate the referencing and reading ability of the business card. If you are in a business of event management you may make your card in a fancy manner by experimenting various fonts and colors. However you can not afford to experiment with colors or fonts if you happen to be in professions where a degree of seriousness is required.

Logo

Irrespective of the scale of your business your logo must be a custom logo so that a person can easily understand what your business is all about by giving it a glance. Your logo should not at all be funky or trendy. It should ideally be very simple and subtle. You can even hire a professional, to design a logo for you or your company.

Consistency

Having a consistency in your business is a must for its effective and efficient functioning. Special attention should be laid on the fact that the design on the envelopes, letterheads and business cards must have same in order to maintain consistency.  A degree of consistency always helps in increasing the brand recognintion of your organization.

Attributes

Unnecessary business attributes should be avoided. Important details like phone number, address, email and company’s website address should be written in a particular order to avoid any confusion and enable the interested parties to get in contact easily.

Recheck All the Details

Before sending your business cards for printing do cross check all the details and information that you wish to provide on your card for accuracy. A poor impression would be formed if the information given on your card is outdated or inaccurate.

Make sure you do not ignore or neglect any of these tips and ways. As any negligence would harm your business and leave a negative impact on your company’s reputation. It takes a long time to build an image and identity for a business but just a few seconds to spoil the image. Thus, try to make a long lasting impression with your simple yet appealing business cards. So the next time, you plan to design new business card make an extra effort to make it a memorable one.
